Agriculture Programs

In 2025, we began a crop rotation program to return nitrogen to the soil at our school garden, and improve the crop outputs for our school lunch program.  Crops include maize (corn), cabbages, tomatoes, onions, and alfalfa. The alfalfa is used to feed our rabbits.

In addition to rabbits, we are also raising chickens for meat.  Chicks are purchased at 1 day old and raised for 8 weeks.  There is a high demand for chicks close to Christmas, because families often celebrate with a special chicken dinner for the holiday.

In 2025, we also started an orchard and 2 banana groves.

The Agriculture Food Programs employ 2 gardeners and 2 groundsmen.
