Good news - there have not been any more killings and three suspects have been captured. They are currently being held in custody and will be taken to court. One of the suspects is the step-father to a girl who survived an attack. There is a forth suspect who is a prominent businessman from Mufulira (a nearby town where our teams stay) who has not yet been taken into custody.
Joseph (who runs the orphanage) estimates that it will take more than 3 years to conclude the case. The locals were very excited and celebrated by dancing and beating traditional drums. They have peace once again to work in the fields. Many locals are involved in sustenance farming and several acres of Maize have been planted to provide this staple food to the orphans and vulnerable children in 2010. It has begun raining and the people are happy.
