ZAMBIAN SCHOOL BASICS
The Zambian school year runs from January through December in 3 terms with month-long breaks in between.
When the transition to Forms, O-levels & A-levels is complete in 2029, National exams will be taken after Grade 6, Form 4 (former equivalent of Grade 10), and Form 6 (former equivalent of Grade 12). |
NEWS & UPDATES
In 2024, we graduated our very first Grade 12 class, with 9 of 12 students passing their national exit exams. Several of these students have been at DJS since Kindergarten, so this was a very proud milestone for us! In 2025, Zambia began to transition the Upper School curriculum from Grades (like the American school system) to Forms (like the British school system). DJS initially started our Form 1 class (formerly known as Grade 8) on the Agriculture Science career pathway. We intend to offer 2 career pathways starting in 2026: Agriculture Science or Technology (with an emphasis on Computer Science). In 2025, DJS became certified to proctor National Grade 7 exams, providing on-site testing for our own students, as well as offering testing for nearby schools. |
